It depicts the strength and courage of America's youth, while examining how these men and women dealt with being thrust into this brutal war. The film includes interviews with war veterans, both American and Japanese, from all branches of the military. It features testimony from medics, nurses, dog handlers, as well as Japanese-Americans who were imprisoned at internment camps in the United States. The film also includes a firsthand account of the tragic impact of the atomic bomb on Japanese citizens. Among the veterans who appear is Zenji Abe, a Japanese veteran who flew the mission to bomb Pearl Harbor and retired General Paul Tibbets who flew the mission to bomb Hiroshima. Steven Spielberg and historian/author Stephen E. Ambrose are executive producers of this feature-length documentary directed and produced by Academy Award winning filmmaker James Moll ("The Last Days"). 1. The Illusion of Ownership: When you "buy" a movie on a digital platform, you are actually purchasing a revocable license to view it. Simply put, streaming is not tangible and you will never own them. Several streaming platforms have removed original content from their libraries to save on residuals & taxes. Unlike DVD & Blu-ray, you cannot watch a digital movie without an internet connection or if the streaming platform shuts down.
2. Price Hikes: Major streaming services have consistently raised prices while introducing ad-supported tiers that costs as much as the ad-free versions. The price hikes will continue to rise as the streaming service see fit. In most cases, it's cheaper to buy DVDs & Blu-rays rather than to "rent" or "buy" from streaming platforms.
3. The Choice Paradox: The sheer volume of content spreaded between several streaming platforms, leads to "decision fatigue" where you spend more time scrolling for something to watch than actually watching a movie. The average movie streaming customer watches less than 7% of a streaming platform's content. Which means, that customers are paying for 93% of content they don't watch.
4. Censorship & Edits: Because streaming platforms control the master files, they can edit, censor or change movies after release without notice.
5. Ads, Ads and More Ads: Most streaming services have introduced ad-supported tiers or even added ads to their "basic" plans, forcing you to pay significantly more just to keep the ad-free experience you originally signed up for. Watching movies paused and filled with ads is no way to experience movies.
